What's in the name ?

Enthusiasts are unsure why Mazda decided to name the limited edition after the Charlie's Angles film, that had just been released on the big screen. The MX-5 had not been used in the film but the slogan for the film had been "Full Throttle" so maybe Mazda felt it was apt to apply it to their sports car.

General Angels Specification Details

The Angels is based on a Standard car.

The Angels limited edition was released at the same time as the big screen film "Charlie's Angles" featuring Lucy Liu, Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz, you can see a small preview clip of the film by clicking here.

The car featured 12 multi spoke 15" alloy wheels with low profile tyres

Other standard features included a rear Mazda factory spoiler not normally seen on any limited editions, or in fact any standard MX-5's.

The interior was given luxury black leather seats (normally found on the top of the range 1.8iS) but featured red stitching, while the centre console was finished in chrome.

Style bars and a rear wind deflector were fitted as standard, as were the stainless steel scuff plates with the Angels badge mounted in the centre.

All other equipment was as per standard 1.6 and 1.8 as above in the specification list.

A lot of cars had the Angels badge's removed by the dealers because they felt it put buyer's off and seem to sell better without them, some people seemed to like the badges others didn't, but one thing is certain; its a shame to dismiss a very reasonably equipped car because of a badge (which can easily be removed if you so wish in a matter of minutes)

A lot of male customers complained that Cameron Diaz did not come with the car ! Unfortunately there is only one Miss Diaz but luckily there are enough MX-5's to ease the heartache.
