  General Monza  Specification Details
The Monza is based on a Standard 1.6.
Details of the extra equipment fitted to make this limited Edition are listed below.
The Monza probably had the shortest specification list of all the limited editions, but despite this it was still a huge success, mainly because of the British love affair with the British Racing Green livery.

The car featured 14" x 6JJ Aliseo alloy wheels with locking wheel nuts, and a high powered Clarion AR6270 radio cassette player.

All other features were the same as the current 1.6, for example the lack of electric windows and power steering.

The car also featured Monza decals to the rear quarter panels and the bonnet , these are now impossible to get hold of.

One thing worth noting is that between 1993 - 1995 the MX-5 was only sold as a 1.8, but demand from the public was so huge that Mazda decided to reintroduced the 1.6i and use it on the limited edition "Monza".

But just be aware that this was a differently tuned engine from the original MX-5. The original 1.6i (1990 - 1993) developed 114 bhp while the newly introduced 1.6i developed a lot less at only 88bhp so performance was dramatically cut. Mazda felt this necessary to widen the gap from the performance of the 1.8.

Despite this a great little car in a very classic colour.
